All of our trainers maintain our standard of excellence by fulfilling our requirements and participating in continuing education. Our Fitness Director, Jennifer Perez, will be happy to help you select a trainer who best suits your needs.
Jennifer Perez, NASM Nutrition Specialist, NASM CPT
Jennifer has been the fitness industry for over 20 years as a nationally certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer presenting multiple formats and training clients internationally. She is currently the Fitness Director at Coaches’ Corner and is certified through the American Counsel on Exercise, the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as Pilates, Zumba and Les Mills. Jennifer is the instructor of the WITS Personal Training Certification at Sonoma State University as well as a NASM mentor and a Parkinson Association of Northern California trainer.
From being a member of a competitive dance team in Asia to a presenter for TurboKick, she brings her clients an extensive background in kickboxing, dance, Pilates Reformer, Pilates Mat, youth coaching, youth Personal Training, nutrition, anatomy, physiology and physical therapy.
She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. “I have learned that I can best serve my clients by teaching them how to achieve optimal health through a balanced lifestyle. I believe that functional training translates into the enduring strength we need for the activities of our day-to-day lives.” Jennifer trains all types of clients with a focus on functional training and Pilates Reformer Training.
Evelyn Looney, ISSA CPT
Evelyn is an International Sports Science Association Certified Personal Trainer. She is fluent in Spanish and is also a group fitness instructor at Coaches Corner. Additionally, she is certified in Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Kids and has been trained by the International Fitness Association.
Born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica, Evelyn came to Sonoma County in 1994. She enjoys nature, being outdoors, exercising, traveling and experiencing new places. “I love listening to music, dancing, and sharing my passion for fitness with everyone around me.”
Evelyn’s focus is functional and small group training. She uses her happy, strong and energetic personality to help her clients achieve their goals.
Nadine has been a Personal Trainer for over 25 years. She holds a Masters in Education, BA in Psychology and is TRX Qualified. She was certified by the American Council on Exerices in 1993 and has been trained in injury rehabilitation, weight management, nutritional counseling and indoor cycling.
Nadine is an avid outdoor cyclist and is passionate about exercise. Her passion for athletics began as a child growing up in rural New England where nature and the outdoors were her playground. I have always associated movement with a feeling of freedom, exploration and fun. It is this sense of play I seek to restore to each client’s fitness program.”
With a special focus on weight loss and nutritional counseling as well as injury rehabilitation, Nadine offers private trainings as well as small group trainings. Whether you are looking for a more conventional workout including machines and free weights or a more innovative style incorporating fitness tools you will receive a program tailored to your needs, with an emphasis on proper form and technique.
Alan Ramos, NESTA CPT
Alan is a certified fitness trainer with National Exercise Sports Training Association and has ten plus years as a fitness trainer and high-level soccer coach in the Sonoma County region. Alan grew up in the Santa Rosa area as a top youth and college soccer player. After many years away, Alan has returned with his experience as a trainer to develop young athletes, but also to meet the needs of all those who want to live a healthier life. He is passionate about the total fitness of the individual and believes that his help with strength training, body core exercise work, and the care and support of those he works with will lead to improving the health and wellbeing of his clients.
Alan works with top-level athletes where his focus is on maximizing one’s speed and strength for high level performance. However, through the years he has also worked with those just starting out in fitness as well as those returning to the gym in order to help them achieve their individual fitness goals. In the end, it has been Alan’s objective to get the most out of those that he works with and to help them feel good about who they are and what they are pursuing.
Myriah Volk, ISSA CPT
Myriah is a Certified Personal Trainer through the International Sports Science Association. As one of the most highly decorated multi-sport athletes to come out of Sonoma County, she was honored in April 2013 with an induction into the Healdsburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Her athletic honors include an All-American award in basketball, an All- Western US award in soccer, and multiple All-SCL awards in softball, leading up to a California State Athlete of the year nomination in 1993. (Award went to Olympian, Marion Jones) Myriah trained at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, as well as under former US Women’s Olympic basketball coach, Tara Vanderveer. Myriah then attended Cal Poly SLO on a basketball scholarship.
Myriah offers small group trainings, specialized youth training for kids between 8 and 18, and works specifically with teens in her Fit Club for Teens. She also offers Sports Specific Training in basketball and soccer. “ I strongly believe that ALL goals are attainable with the proper plans and encouragement. I want my clients to feel comfortable and safe in a non-judgmental space in which they can thrive and achieve their goals.”
Ruth Taylor, NASM
Ruth is a NASM certified personal trainer through AFAA and SCW Fitness as well as a group fitness as well as being a Zumba instructor. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Fitness, Nutrition and Health from Santa Rosa Junior College. Her training style is centered on each client; she specializes in creating exercise programs based on their needs and/or preferences
Lindsey is certified through the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers. She has been trained by Sarah City Workout, studied the super slow technique and is TRX Qualified. She enjoys swimming, surfing, running, snowboarding and adventure races. She has been training under a world champion fighter for two years and has a passion for martial arts. This diverse athletic background gives her the skills to incorporate a variety of training methods into her workouts. Lindsey specializes in athletic and sport-specific training with a focus on muscle building and fat loss. “I believe each person is different and there is not one program that works for everyone. Fitness is a choice that you make daily and I am here to help clients maximize their fitness potential and reach their goals.”
